Rice Paper Bacon
Le boyfriend loved bacon before he went vegan, and I get it. We tried so many recipes online, we also bought all the bacon brands we can finds and nothing really hit the spot for him until I made these one morning.
I wanted to make a rice paper bacon for brunch one morning and I wanted to try something different, so I used TVP for the fillings and switch up some ingredients to make it a bit more bacon-y and it worked! This is the only bacon recipe you will ever need, it is so crunchy yet so juicy inside and quick to make, the perfect addition to your next brunch, or to make a vegan BLT, crunch it into bites for a carbonara or just by itself!
You will need just a few ingredients that you probably already have home or are super easy to find at your local grocery store:
Rice paper
Nutritional yeast
Soy sauce
Salt, pepper & spices

Rice paper bacon
Ingredients
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375F
- Soak the TVP in water in a medium size bowl for 10 minutes. Drain and squish to remove as much water from them as possible.
- Mix all the ingredients in a bowl excluding the rice paper sheets and TVP.
- Pour 1/3 of the marinade into the TVP and stir to make sure all the small pieces are covered.
- Dip 1 piece of rice paper in the marinade, sprinkle TVP on top of it, dip another piece of rice paper in the marinade and place on top of the TVP.
- Gently press down using your hands.
- Once the rice paper has settle and it looks like one sheet, cut into strips using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife.
- Transfer the bacon to a baking tray. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients.

- Serve with sandwiches, pastas, or by itself!
