  1. Microwave your milk for 20 seconds, it should be warm, but not hot, you should be able to touch it without any discomfort.
  2. Whisk the yeast & let it sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to allow the yeast to activate. After 10 minutes, you should have a fluffy, bubbly mixture, if you don't, the milk was probably too hot. Throw it out & start over.
  3. Add the cumin powder & half of the garlic to the mixture, start adding the flour to the mixture while whisking with a wooden spoon until you need to start kneading by hand (or use a stand mixer if you have one) You want to add the minimum amount of flour possible to get a dough that is easy to work. After kneading for 5 - 10 minutes, the dough should be stretchy & smooth.
  4. Brush some of the melted butter on a new bowl & transfer the dough ball into it, cover the bowl with a kitchen towel, let it rise for 45 minutes - 1 hour in a warm place.
  5. After 1 hour or so, the dough should be twice its size, punch the dough down, knead it for 2 -3 minutes, divide the dough into 8 equal pieces & cover with a kitchen towel for 15 more minutes.
  6. Use your hands to flatten the little balls, grab a rolling pin & roll the dough out until is around 0.5 cm thin. Repeat the process with the rest of the dough. Allow the dough to rise for 10 more minutes.
  7. In the meanwhile, start heating up your favourite cast iron, if you don't have one, you can use a pan that can handle very high heat for a long period of time. Brush the pan with the melted butter & add the rolled-out dough, one at a time. Cook it for 1-2 minutes, or until you see bubbles forming on the dough, flip & cook for 2 more minutes. Repeat the process with the rest of them.
  8. Add the remaining garlic, butter & parsley to a small bowl, & brush your naan.
  9. & voila!
