Instructions
- Warm up the milk in the microwave for around 40 seconds, it should be warm to the touch but you should not feel uncomfortable when you touch it. Add the milk & the yeast to a small bowl & whisk it. Allow it to activate by letting it sit, covered by a kitchen towel for 10 minutes.
- The yeast mixture should be “fluffy” now. Add the melted butter, & half of the flour, stir with a large spoon until the mixture comes together. Now, add the sugar, continue mixing, adding ½ of flour at the time until you’ve used it all. You should have a firm but slightly sticky dough.
- Transfer the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-6 minutes, until you have a smooth dough. Transfer to an oiled large bowl & cover it up with a kitchen towel. Allow it to rise for 45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375F.
- Dust with flour a clean counter or pastry mat with flour. Punch the dough down, & use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a large rectangle, about 2CM thick.
- Spread the 6 tablespoons softened vegan butter over the dough. Mix the sugar & cinnamon together, sprinkle on top.
- Starting with the long end closest to you, roll the dough into a tight log. Using a serrated knife, Then slice into 12 rolls. Place the rolls in a 22 CM pie pans.
- Bake for 30 - 35 minutes, until the rolls are lightly golden brown.
- Allow them to cool a bit before covering them with icing.
Icing
- Whisk the ingredients together until smooth. Set aside.
