Vegan Skin Care Routine
Once I turned 12 my mom started teaching me how to take care of my skin, and I am so thankful for that. Because today, almost 20 years later, I never skip on my skincare routine, and not only that, I enjoy it so much as well.
When I turned vegan I had to look for different products that aligned with my lifestyle. So, I started trying new vegan and cruelty free products. So good, some alright, and some terrible.
I made this list for you so safe you some time and money, so you don’t waste it using products that just arent that food.
Keep in mind, everyones skin is different, I am not a dermatologist, this is just the routine that works for me.
Salicylic Acid Cleanser
With this one a little bit goes a long way which makes it even better because it lasts forever!
If you are anything like me (or have oily skin) this cleanser is perfect for you.
It has helped me prevent and combat black head and white heads in my nose, and keep my skin cleand and fresh thought out the day.
However, I would skip this one if you skin tends to be a bit dry, since it is a little harder on the skin to be able to remove those blackheads!
SunScreen
I think everyone forgets about sunscreen and it is one of the mot important parts of your skincare routine, especially to protect your skins collagen.
I understand that wearing sunscreen can be a little bit annoying since it is so greasy and thick, and that is why I love Sunbum so much! It is thick, but not as oily and greasy as the rest of them are, while keeping my skin moisturized and protected though the day.
I apply it every morning before I apply anything else on my face and allow it to absorb for a few minutes.
Eye care - Retinol Eye Stick
I will admit it, I only started wearing eye cream this year, but it has been a game changer for me!
The skin around our eyes is extremely sensitive and I often feel that it is dryer than the rest of my face. Not only that, because it is so sensitive, it tends to puff, and wrinkle easier than the rest of our skin.
Keeping that area moisturized is imperative to keep it healthy, plus this stick comes with retinol, which is one of the best anti-aging ingredients out there, and because it comes in a stick it makes it super easy to apply.
Retinol 0.5% in Squalane
As I mentioned just now, retinol is one of the best anti-aging ingredients out there, and I love to use this one from The Ordinary.
It is not only effective to helps slow skins aging, but it also battles acne and keep your pores clean. It is ALSO super affordable and it last for a long time!
Anti-Aging Bakuchiol Serum
Wrinkles is something very easy to target before they appear, but really hard to battle once they arrive, so I like to also use this Bakuchiol serum to prevent the appearance of fine lines, and to make the ones I already have smoother and finer. It also helps your skin stay firmer and more elastic, making it look younger and fresher.
Cetella
My only regret is not buying this sooner!
I feel in love with Centella the first time I use it, I saw changes in my skin right away, it was not only softer, but firmer, fresher, and smoother. Since that day, I use Centella twice a day and my skin is smooth and soft (even after Canadian winter!)
Natural Moisturizing Factors + Ha
To bring my moisturizing game up, I finish my skin care routine with this creamy face lotion from The Ordinary. I love it because it is thick, yet light and smooth which I love, because I hate the feeling of greasy lotions on my face.
It is also super affordable and it last for along time since just a bit of it will be enough for your face (and neck!)
